REALTORS® believe that healthy communities depend on a strong economy, safe neighbourhoods, a clean environment, access to housing and the protection of rights of property owners. WRAR recognizes the need to support and enhance the Quality of Life enjoyed by residents of Waterloo Region.

In 2020 the Black Lives Matter movement exposed inequities not only in our region but also on a global scale. On June 3rd, a KW Solidarity March held in Kitchener attracted over 20,000 supporters. The Waterloo Region Association of REALTORS® (WRAR) Board of Directors is in support of this movement and recognizes the importance of keeping this momentum of change.

In 2017 the KWAR Board of Directors adopted its own diversity policy. Today, by sponsoring the CCAWR’s 2023 BHM event we continue to build on our value of inclusion by diversifying the cultural events that we participate in.

Our REALTORS® in Waterloo Region mirror the diversity of the region and this diversity builds stronger and better communities. We are also introducing Antiracism Training Sessions that guide conversations about racism and discrimination for our members. KWAR is excited to continue our growth as an association with a membership base that serves our community.

The Waterloo Region Association of REALTORS®️ (WRAR) is a new association that has been formed through the recent amalgamation between the Cambridge Association of REALTORS®️ and Kitchener-Waterloo Association of REALTORS®️. We have a new name, a fresh start, but the same awesome REALTOR®️ community—just better together! While WRAR officially began offering member services on August 1, 2022, the two previous associations have over 150 years of combined experience. We are proud to support the needs of REALTORS®️ and brokerages serving one of Canada’s fastest growing and thriving communities—Waterloo Region.
